About those HUDS

My interests in SL are very different all the time.

A long time I went exploring, looking for freebies, partying with the tekno people.

Then I spent a time building random weirdness and also exhibiting my real life art in second life.

Exhibiting RL art in SL begins to be very boring quick so i started to make SL art.

also I started to role play in cyberpunk role play games and other things where they used scripted weapons.

weapons itself are not very interesting in my eyes. if I want to play a shooter I go and play half life.

But the `defense` HUD´s those are interesting!

What is a HUD? a HUD is a Heads Up Display. An object that only the user can see.

In SL there is extensive use of HUD's. HUD's for flying, avatar radars, sex HUD's, Emoter HUD's and many more.

Now i stumbled on defense HUD;s.

That are handy tools with alot of options.

defense huds are basicly for two things.

defense and attacks.

the defense options are shields, escapers etc.

the attacks are orbits, spam bombs etc.

So i went looking for a defense hud the first time.

I wanted to make one myself but since I don't know where to start i decided to buy a couple and mess around with those first.

my eye fell upon three hud's.

1 Biotec HUD

2 Dopestyle HUD

3 V-Scan HUD

The v-scan HUD was 2500LS so i decided not to buy that one.

i bought the Biotec HUD and the Dopestyle HUD to see how those things worked.

The request for the biotec hud timed out and i did not get it unfortunately till now.

(due to SL being offline without LL warning us :-( )

The dopestyle hud i received the moment i ordered it.

The box itself is ugly and the name itself is also childish.

What did annoy me was the weed leaf in the middle of the hud.

so the first thing i did with it was changing the look of the hud itself.

With the hud comes a robot which is done nicely but very annoying.

when i walk around etc. i constantly use the zoom in and out function with my mouse.

the robot somehow gets constant in the way so it drives me crazy.

Not so much good words till now..

Lets take a look at the offensive options first.

it has a: Beholder, Cluster, Cloud, Blinder, Trap, Destroyer,Levitate, Crap, n00b tag, all off, trasher,

invastion, camblocker, orbit, knockout, syringe, magnet options.

most of those options are followers or pushers.

some are nice but the graphic quality is low.

What would be a defense hud without defensive stuff?

The dopestyle hud has a interceptor, alertgiver, movelock, shield, autopunisher, undeformer, escape and a spoofer.

i like mostly all of these options but the shield is very annoying. I cannot zoom in or out anymore so then i go totaly crazy.

the hud has extra options too.

the bot can scan scripts, get info of avatars, scan, spy, trace avatars, trace objects,cloak, position etc.

and there are many extra tools.

going over every option would be too much to write about.

my conclusion of this HUD is the following:

i give it a 7 out of a 10.

why?

it looks all shitty but it has many options and is a good tool for not too much money.

it cost 999ls and well its cheaper then the 2500ls huds.

The Mystitool hud is also in my hands now and i will write about it later.
